Cosmos
These are so prolific and hardy and seemingly deer-resistant. They seem to bloom all summer until around late August. They will toss seeds around like mad and they don’t need anything but sun.
Forget-me-nots
Anything for blue! These have a tidy-ish habit and fill in gaps nicely. They love sun and will self-seed for you whether you like it or not (in a good way.)
California Poppies
The iconic shape of these flowers can’t NOT make you happy. The wispy greens stick around well into Fall.
Chleome
I don’t have a picture of my chleome but it’s very wild and crabby and adds height to your scape. Plant them once and they will keep coming back.
